CAS ADD confirms the suspension of two athletes for doping
The Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ADD) confirmed the suspension of the two athletes who were previously disqualified for the anti-doping rule violation.
The International Testing Agency (ITA) had announced on 26 July that Iraqi judoka Sajjad Ghanim Sehen has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for anabolic androgenic steroids during an Out-of-Competition test on 23 July 2024.
On 27 July ITA reported that the sample collected from the Nigerian boxer Cynthia Temitayo Ogunsemilore “has returned an adverse analytical finding for the specified prohibited substance furosemide.”
Both athletes have requested a provisional hearing. On 26 July the NOC Iraq confirmed to the ITA that the Athlete requested a provisional hearing to challenge the provisional suspension.
On the night of 28 July CAS ADD handled the two Olympic cases in Paris and confirmed the provisional suspensions of the two athletes.
Sehen was going to compete at the men’s 81 kg division. Ogunsemilore was registered to participate in the women’s -60 kg category.
